Cire Trudon was founded in 1643 during the reign of Louis XIV. Cire Trudon is the oldest candle manufacturer in the world that is still active. During the 17th century they were court supplier to the French Royal House and then to Napoléon Bonaparte.

Cire Trudon received a gold medal at the 1889 World Exhibition as a reward for the excellent quality of its candles and wax. Cire Trudon works with the famous 'noses' to create perfumes for its scented candles. Each candle is still handmade in the factory in Normandy, thus continuing a luxury production that preserves the skills of its founder, Claude Trudon.
